Student Guidelines

*By enrolling in the class or lesson, you are deemed to have read and agreed to the contents of the Student Guidelines.

What should I do if I cannot attend any class?
What will happen?

One-on-One Lessons:

  • ​If you need to request personal leave, please notify us via Whatsapp or email before paying the tuition for that month, specifying the dates and times of your leave. You can then pay only for the classes you will attend that month. Otherwise, no additional arrangements will be made for the missed class.

  • Classes will proceed as usual on public holidays. If either you or the teacher needs a holiday, this needs to be communicated before paying the tuition for that month. Therefore, if you plan to take a holiday on a public holiday, please discuss and arrange it with us one month in advance and inform us before paying the tuition for that month. You can then pay only for the classes you will attend that month.

  • If there are any special circumstances after paying the lesson fee, changes to lesson times can be discussed if you inform us via email at least 24 hours before the lesson begins. However, please note that we cannot guarantee a change in lesson times every time. Any lesson fees paid for that month must be used within the current month, otherwise the lesson fee will be deducted.

  • If you are unwell within 24 hours before the lesson, please inform us via Whatsapp or email before the lesson starts, and we may reschedule for another date. However, please note that we cannot guarantee a change in lesson times every time. Private Group Classes:

  • Upon registering for the class, you will be considered and agreed to the acknowledgment 'Japanese Online Lessons Video Recording Acknowledgment.' Once you agree to watch the recording, you will be considered as having attended the class. Please read the acknowledgment carefully:

Regular Group Classes:

  • If you cannot attend any classes in the coming month, you will need to choose the pay-as-you-go method to settle the lesson fee.

  • If you wish to watch the lesson recording for all the lessons you cannot attend, you can choose to pay for a term.

  • If you cannot attend any classes after settling the lesson fee, recordings of the lessons will be provided for you to watch at your convenience. However, these recordings will only be available for one week.

  • Upon registering for the class, you will be considered and agreed to the acknowledgment 'Japanese Online Lessons Video Recording Acknowledgment.' Once you agree to watch the recording, you will be considered as having attended the class. Please read the acknowledgment carefully:

When should I settle the lesson fee?

Private Lessons:

To streamline the payment process, we kindly ask that the lesson fee for the entire month be paid no later than the 20th of previous month. Once payment is made, please notify us via email.

Regular Group Classes:

For those opting to pay for a term, please ensure the lesson fee for the upcoming term is settled before the final class of the current term.

 

If you prefer to pay as you go, kindly settle the lesson fee at least one day before the class. Once payment is completed, please notify us via email.

Should I start learning from the beginning in the next term?

No, we will continue from where we left off in the previous term.

Can I maintain the same class schedule in the next term?

Yes, if there are at least four students, the class will continue at the same time in the next term. You will be notified of any special circumstances.

However, if there are fewer than four students in the class, you may be required to switch to another class or opt for private lessons.

Will we cover all the content of the textbook within a term?

No, we will not cover all the content of the textbook within one term.

Our lessons are never rushed. It is important to ensure students understand every thing before moving on.Therefore, our teaching schedule depends on the performance and needs of my students, there is no set number of hours required to finish a certain level.

Our lessons cover listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills. You will have a lot of opportunities to practice Japanese during the lesson!

Do I need to buy the accompanying English translation book of Minna-no-nihongo?

The translation book is optional. It contains vocabulary lists for each chapter, additional words, and grammar explanations in English. We will provide the vocabulary lists for each chapter and explain the grammar during the lessons. You may purchase the book if you’d like to have physical grammar notes or access to the extra vocabulary

Which software do we use for online classes?

We will conduct the lesson via Zoom. You do not need to download the software; simply click the Zoom meeting link to join the session.

How can I submit homework for online classes?

To improve your memory retention, we recommend completing the homework by hand.

Printing the homework is recommended. You have the option to print out the exercises the teacher have sent, write your answers on paper, then take a photo or scan and send it to the teacher. However, if you encounter any printing difficulties, you can write your answers on separate paper and send that to the teacher.

Certainly, you can complete the homework using an digital pen and send teacher the PDF afterward.

For exercises in the textbook, you can write your answers on separate paper and send them to the teacher.

The teacher will give you comments on your homework afterward.
